Pakistan beat archrivals India by 43 runs in their opening U19 Asia Cup encounter on Saturday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Green Shirts’ win came amid the Champions Trophy fiasco between neighboring countries.

Pakistan, famed for their powerful bowling attack, destroyed the junior Indian batting line-up while chasing 282 runs. Ali Raza, who has been impressing recently, led the assault with three wickets, while Abdul Subhan and Faham-ul-Haq each took two.

Naveed Ahmed Khan took Nikhil Kumar’s important wicket after he became his team’s top run-scorer today. His 67 runs included six fours and three sixes. In the first innings, Pakistan’s Usman Khan scored 60 runs and dismissed India’s Mohammad Aman.

Pakistan beat their archrivals after India was bowled out for 238 runs in the 48th over. India scored 281 runs with seven wickets after Pakistan invited them to field first.

Usman and Shahzaib Khan opened with a 160-run partnership, with Shahzaib scoring 159 off 147 balls. His innings had five boundaries and 10 maximums.

Shahzaib broke the U19 ODI sixes record with 10. After the openers were dismissed, only Mohammad Riaz scored in double digits. Indian Samarth Nagaraj caught three Pakistani hitters.
