Crowe-Thorpe Trophy: What is this?

The “Crowe-Thorpe Trophy” will be used to refer to the England vs. New Zealand series.

Christchurch will host the first of the two sides’ three Test matches on November 28.

Graham Thorpe of England and Martin Crowe of New Zealand are the recipients of the series trophy. This cricket bat is made from the wood of two bats used by cricketers who have passed away: one by Crowe, who scored a century against England, and the other by Thorpe, who scored a century against New Zealand.

Both athletes were revered as top-tier batters during their time. Martin Crowe died in 2016, while Graham Thorpe died earlier this year.
