Chelsea are reportedly interested in re-signing former youth side goalkeeper Marcin Bulka amid hunting the market for a new shot-stopper this season. The Polish keeper currently plays for the Ligue 1 side Nice.
Bulka played for Chelsea’s youth team between 2016 and 2019 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). After spending a couple of seasons on loan at Cartagena, Châteauroux, and Nice, he joined the latter club in 2022. Bulka was made Nice’s number-one goalkeeper last season, replacing Kasper Schmeichel. In 70 appearances for Nice across competitions, the Pole has maintained 25 clean sheets.
According to a report by journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea are interested in re-signing Marcin Bulka this summer. Phillips wrote on his Substack page:
“You would have remembered an article back in November on this site from our own SPTC sources reporting Chelsea’s interest in re-signing former goalkeeper Marcin Bulka. He remains on our potential new goalkeeper shortlist as the club continues to monitor new stoppers.”
The Blues currently have Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen as goalkeepers in their squad. Sanchez has maintained four clean sheets in 17 outings this season, while Jorgensen has kept the same number of clean sheets in 11 appearances.
If they sign Bulka, the Pole may not immediately become a regular starter ahead of Sanchez and Jorgensen. However, he could serve as a good backup and a potential starter in the future.
Chelsea are keen on signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in the summer transfer window: Reports
According to recent reports by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are monitoring Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap as one of their potential targets in the summer transfer window. The Blues are reportedly happy with their squad for now and will not be making many signings in January.
However, Delap has been on the Blues’ radar for a while as coach Enzo Maresca likes the player. Maresca has managed Delap for a year while coaching the Manchester City U-23 side (2019-20). The two won the PL2 title together. The 21-year-old has now risen to become one of the most promising young strikers in the Premier League. He has contributed six goals and an assist in 18 outings for Ipswich Town across competitions.
Delap’s current contract with Ipswich Town ends in June 2029. With the Blues likely to qualify for UEFA Champions League football next season, the Englishman’s signing could add more depth to their attack. However, they will be monitoring Delap’s performances in the latter half of the season before making a move over the summer.
