Pakistan won the Blind T20 Cricket World Cup on Tuesday after defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets at Multan Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh batted first and scored 139 for seven wickets, with Arif Hussain scoring 54 runs. Motiullah and Mohammad Salman each took one wicket, while Babar Ali took three.

Pakistan blind team reached 140 in 11 overs without any trouble. Openers Nisar Ali (72) and Mohammad Safdar (47) led the Green Shirts to a 10-wicket triumph. After winning the Blind T20 World Cup for the first time, Pakistan made history. The 2012 competition had seen India win all three prior editions. The 2012 India edition saw India overcome Pakistan by 29 runs in the final. India won the second edition in 2017 by 9 wickets over their neighbours. India won the third edition in 2022 by defeating Bangladesh in the final.

Pakistan snapped the streak by winning the fourth Blind T20 World Cup in their home country. The win over Bangladesh ended India’s dominance and made blind cricket history. Mohsin Naqvi, PCB chairman, congratulated the blind cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup final. “The players demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the tournament and achieved the honour of becoming T20 World Champions,” he said.

Naqvi praised the team’s efforts, highlighting captain Nisar Ali and Muhammad Safdar’s great batting performances that won the final. The PCB chairman also congratulated the team’s management for their victory. “The blind cricket team showcased remarkable dedication and teamwork in every match of the tournament,” he remarked. He hoped the team will keep playing with the same enthusiasm and succeed.
